What Makes Me Feel Satisfied?

I have worked any number of jobs that didn’t leave me feeling satisfied. We all have to earn a living, right?  You can’t just laze about your home, on a beach, or wander aimlessly all the time, because clothing, food and shelter cost money.  Also, frankly, doing nothing at all gets pretty boring pretty fast. When I started college, I remember preparing to register for my first classes.  It was orientation, and I had not yet chosen my major.  I

Why is Feeling Joyful Important?

One of the goals of Pathwalking is to enhance the things in life that make us feel joyful. I want to work on choosing the life I most desire to lead.  Consciousness creates reality, and I want to choose the reality that brings me joy and happiness. This can be particularly challenging, especially in today’s society.  We are bombarded every day with horrid, awful, ugly, unpleasant things.  Terrible people, selfishness, greed, and a deluge of messages about lack and scarcity.

How Does Joy Create Positivity?

Pure, unadulterated joy. Don’t you love that feeling?  The freedom, the release, the positivity?  That feeling of comfort and warmth and bliss that makes you smile and remember what it is to be alive? We are so inundated with dread, fear, anger, hatred, division and harsh reality.  Everyone is constantly being subjected to grim news and intolerance and denial of joy.  We are slaves to community, to jobs and finances and responsibilities that rob us of pure joyfulness. I believe

Ten Things Making Me Happy

In response to a great deal of awful things from the start of this year, I want to share with you ten things in my personal life that are making me happy. While Valentine’s Day is my least favorite holiday, the message of love it conveys is worth spreading.  Rather than keep it to one day designed to generate revenue for florists, chocolatiers and card companies, I think spreading love every day is a fine thing. Love begins with the

How Do We Work Together?

We are stronger when we work together than when we work apart. Pathwalking may be an individual act, but that does not mean it happens in a vacuum.  Humans are social creatures.  We have people whom we interact with every day on every imaginable level.  Working with each other instead of against one another can take us even further than we might hope. Modern society has an unfortunate tendency to work from a divide-and-conquer approach.  We are inundated with messages

Why Do Words Matter?

Words matter. What that means is that what you write or say can have an impact, positive or negative.  Do you build or destroy with your words?  Inspire or terrorize?  Spew love or hate?  Give or take? People often forget just how important the words we use are.  Sometimes we fear the power of certain words and phrases, but neglect that there are always options. There are more than 200,000 words in the English dictionary, when you include the obsolete

Are You Kind?

Be kind to yourself.  Give kindness to others. I am sitting here this morning, trying to come up with words for this post, and I have been doing my usual routine.  I go to Facebook, I play a couple games, and I read through a bunch of posts. There are a lot of discouraging things going on out there.  So much anger, so much fear, such unbelievable negativity.  Is this really the world we want to live in? I don’t

What Is Tenacity?

Tenacity, like patience, has never been my strongest suit. One of the keys to succeeding at reaching the destination of any given path, though, is tenacious resolve. What does it mean to have tenacity?  It is best described as the ability to stick-to whatever you are trying to make happen.  I often picture this as a dog with her jaws fastened to a stick she just will not relinquish.  She would rather hold onto it then let it go, even

How Does One Step Build Positivity?

Some days you just take one step at a time.  Then follow it with another…and another…and so on. For myself and many of my friends and loved ones, last week was a serious downer.  We lost people who meant a great deal to us.  Losing people special to us is hard.  Returning to our regularly scheduled lives can feel particularly trying. When I look for positivity every week, I acknowledge that nobody lives in a good headspace all the time.

Life is Energy

Life is energy, and energy is life. When we lose people dear to us, their energy has not gone…it has been transmuted back to the Universe. We will miss the people we care about when they leave us.  Their energy may be gone from our lives, but it is not truly gone.  Energy can never be created nor destroyed, just transformed into a new form. As I am sitting at my desk writing this, I am witnessing the sun rising
