The Ramblings of the Titanium Don

How Does Joy Empower?

Joy empowers us.

When we do things that bring joy into our lives, we make ourselves better, stronger, and happier.  Joy raises our frequency, and lets us attract more of the things we truly want for ourselves.

Yet we frequently will deny ourselves joy.  Why?  A number of different reasons, of course.

JoyFirst is the external.  In a society so focused on lack and scarcity, we wind up made to feel guilty if something makes us feel joyful.  We begin to believe that in taking joy for ourselves, we will deny it to others.

Then, of course, if we spend really any time at all reading the news or exploring politics, there is absolutely no joy there.  The horror show of bad decisions, greed, corruption, and overall terrible people across the globe is depressing, rage-inducing, and thoroughly unpleasant.

Second is the internal.  Because most of us struggle in some way or other to do the “right thing” and live a good life, we don’t entirely believe that we are worthy or deserving of feeling joyful.  It’s all-too-easy to believe that this is something we need to sacrifice in order to earn a living, endure certain people we can’t avoid, and manage day-to-day life.

Beyond feeling worthy and deserving of joy, for a lot of people it comes with guilt.  Why?  Because with so many people in pain, struggling to make ends meet, working too hard, and otherwise having a difficult life, we come to feel guilty if we find joy.  It makes a person feel as if they are betraying their friends and family who are having a hard time of things, and as such creates a sense of guilt.

Joy is never selfish

This is the truth.  Joy is never selfish.

Why?  Because only you know what makes you feel joy.  That which makes you feel joy differs from what makes me feel it.  Further, how we feel joy is going to differ.

We are, at our core, energy.  Energy vibrates at various frequencies.  Higher vibrations are positive, lower vibrations negative.  As such, high-energy empowers, while low-energy disempowers.  What this boils down to is that we are constantly seeking high-vibrational energies.

Consciousness creates reality.  Like attracts like.  When you feel joy, you tend to draw more joyful things to yourself.  This doesn’t just include things, tangible or intangible, it also includes people.

Ever find yourself laughing because someone else is laughing?  You might not know what is causing them to laugh, but you still find yourself smiling?  That is like attracting like.  It’s entirely possible you’ve no clue what’s making the other person laugh, but still you get that same sense, and desire to join them.

How can that possibly be selfish?  Why do we accept that things which make us feel good and bring us joy can make us bad people?  Where does this come from?

This is a particular mystery I often consider.  How is it that we accept feeling bad, working unacceptably long hours, and feeling unhappy as being normal?  What is driving that?

Lack.  Scarcity.  The greed and corruption of many in power who want to retain their power by disempowering everyone else.  Politicians, business, religious and spiritual leaders spouting platitudes about the worthy and the deserving, and those who are not.  If we do not earn whatever the thing is that brings us happiness, we have come to believe we are undeserving.  And worse, that we are bad, selfish or otherwise wrongheaded.

Claim your joy

I believe that everyone needs to take the time to find things that bring them joy.  More than that, though, we need to accept the power and positivity of joy.  It is an amazing thing, and it empowers us to create and manifest wonders.

When there is something available to you that will make you feel joyful, don’t hesitate, don’t overthink it, grab ahold and take it.  Letting ourselves feel joyful also lets us feel empowered.  When we feel empowered, we often spread that feeling to others around us, and as such can build more positive feelings.

Further, we can use the positive feelings this generates to dissolve negative feelings.  When we take away negative feelings, we open up space to let in more positive feelings, and that is something we can be grateful for.

Gratitude leads to happiness.  Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude.  Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.  Joy is the ultimate expression of happiness.  What’s more, it helps us to control change, and walk the paths we would choose to in this life.

Feeling empowered manifests incredible things, and allows us to create the life we most desire.

Joy can be found in the now

There are innumerable things that are capable of bringing us joy in the here-and-now.  Often, we lose joy because of too much time focusing either on the past or the future.  But in the now, it can be found all around us.

I have been working on being more present in the here-and-now of late, and I am finding that in doing so, I am feeling more centered and calmer.  During an epic roadtrip this past weekend, there was a tremendous amount of joyful laughter.  This inspired Positivity this week.  During this trip I spent much time present in the now, and realized that more laughter, from a joyful place, it incredibly empowering.

Much of our anxieties and dis-ease is based in thoughts of the past and visions of the future.  We worry about things that have yet to happen, and fret over mistakes and bad things that are past.  This will totally rob us of our joy if we let it.

This is why striving to be more present in the here-and-now will allow more room for joy.  When we feel that positive energy and create from those higher vibration frequencies, we can manifest virtually anything we desire.

What have you done of late to feel joy?
