What Matters Most?
What matters is being the best you that you can be.
Nobody but you knows who you are. That’s the long and short of it.
Let’s look at a single universal truth. No matter how we act, no matter how much we strive to be real and genuine, people will perceive us based on their own experiences, expectations, prejudices and knowledge. They will judge you based on how they perceive their own world, and there is nothing you or I can do to change that.
What matters is that you strive to live a good life. Be happy. Work on being a good person, doing the best that you can do in any situation you find yourself in. Do everything in your power to be a good example, to be genuine and true. Express gratitude frequently for everything you can.
I close ever week of this post with Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require action. This is not a difficult or challenging action. It is not a grand and glorious gesture. We just need to act. To create positivity in our lives, we have to take actions in order to make it happen.
Yes, random things will occur from time to time that will make you feel positive. But when you are working to consciously create reality, you are being aware. This means that rather than let life live you, you are choosing to find and take control. Positivity is a much higher frequency than negativity. High frequencies bring more and better things to us. This is why positivity matters so much.
The thing is, nobody but you knows what feels good. What creates positivity for you might not work for anyone else. That’s why getting to know who you are is of such vast importance.
What matters is that you can do virtually anything.
With a broad stroke, I can paint certain aspects of modern society. There are expectations for what we are supposed to do and how we are supposed to live that makes us a part of the “norm” or makes us “unusual”. More often than not, though, it’s a smaller microcosm that effects who we are trying to be. Our immediate circles of friends, family, coworkers, and community can and will effect who we are.
Some of these effects are for the good. But sometimes who others think we should be runs counter to who we are or who we want to be. What matters in this is that when we are true to ourselves, we are likeliest to be happy. I don’t know about you, but I like finding people, jobs, activities and other things in life that make me feel good, happy, and positive. Certainly more than finding experiences to make me feel bad, sad, and negative.
What matters most is that you strive to be the best you that you can be. So long as you do not deny anyone else the opportunity to be whom they want to be in the process, this can only do good and draw more positive energies into the world.
For what it’s worth, I believe in who you are. Keep it up!
Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require action.
Knowing that what matters most is that we be true to ourselves, we can seek out to improve who we are for our own good. When we are genuine, authentic, and striving to improve ourselves we ultimately empower ourselves. When we feel empowered, we often spread that feeling to others around us, and as such can build more positive feelings. We can use the positive feelings this generates to dissolve negative feelings. When we take away negative feelings, we open up space to let in positive feelings, and that is something we can be grateful for. Gratitude leads to happiness. Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude. Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.
This is the two-hundred and fifteenth entry of my Positivity series. It is my hope these weekly messages might help spread positive energies for everyone. Feel free to share, re-blog and spread the positivity.
