Are You For Rather Than Against?

When taking a stand, it is important to be for rather than against. Why does that matter?  Because when you are for a thing, you are proactive and working on action.  When you are against a thing, you are reactive, and usually working with inaction. Carl Jung said, “What you resist not only persists, but will grow in size.”  Consciousness creates reality.  Because of this truth, when we stand against a thing, since that is where all of our focus

What are You Standing Up For?

Standing up for what is right is not always the easiest choice.  But it is still a good choice. In the medieval reenactment game I have been playing for almost 27 years now, there is currently a leader, a “King”, who has been openly racist, and continually taking inappropriate actions regularly.  In a society where most of the people I know are open, welcoming, and otherwise decent to one another, this is a terrible disappointment. A friend of mine took

How do you Savor the Moment?

Savor the moment.  Be grateful, and excited, and enjoy it, here and now. As you are reading this my annual vacation is drawing to an end.  I have been enjoying a week of rest and relaxation with friends and chosen family, unwinding and de-stressing.  Fun, good company, and an opportunity to hit the reset button. Rather than become bummed out that my vacation is over, though, I am going to savor the moment.  From there, I am going to take

Why are Rest and Relaxation Important?

When was the last time you allowed yourself real rest and relaxation? I am not talking about sleep, or a little weekend escape, I mean actual, factual relaxation and resting from your responsibilities? Modern society frowns on taking breaks.  We have this incessant need to go go go, and anybody who doesn’t reflect that is either lazy, entitled, or otherwise not contributing to the greater good. Is that total bullshit, or what? Yes, the human body needs to rest.  Sleep

How Do You Hit the Reset Button?

Everybody needs a chance to hit the reset button. Whether it is merely for a few minutes, a night, or an extended vacation, hitting the reset button is essential to our wellbeing.  We might have things that need to be done on a regular basis, but we still need to rest and relax from time to time.  That is what it means to hit the reset button. Despite negative connotations in the idea of rest and relaxation, such as slacking

Change is Opportunity

Change is opportunity. Since change is inevitable, and we can choose to embrace change or not, we get to decide if it is bad luck…or an opportunity. How does this work?  Change is opportunity because it is a chance for something new and different.  It might be a fresh start, it might be a shift, great or small, that can be used to take on a new direction or do different things. I believe that if more people saw change

How Does Embracing Change Work?

Embracing change, rather than resisting it, serves us best. Nobody denies that change is scary.  Humans seek comfort, be it in our homes, relationships, clothing, foods we consume, and so forth.  There is a certain level of comfort in the familiar.  As such, when that which we are used to changes, it can be extremely disconcerting. Like it or not, change will occur.  That is the nature of the universe.  Change is a constant.  Embracing change, therefore, will smooth any

How does a Change of Scenery Help?

Sometimes you need a change of scenery. This can be a tiny shift, or it can be rather immense, depending on the time and situation.  A change of scenery, however slight, can go a long ways towards building Positivity. Clean off your desk, rearrange your furniture, change out your décor, change your body wash, look at some digital images you have on your computer or phone or online.  Reposition and move about the small things around you that you can.

Is There an Albatross Around Your Neck?

Is there an albatross around your neck? What does that even mean?  First, the albatross has been a sign of good luck to sailors for centuries.  As such, killing one is considered to be bad luck.  In the old poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, because the narrator killed an albatross, his fellow sailors made him wear it around his neck. As such, it references the notion that you have a burden weighing you down.

Why do High Frequencies Matter?

What is the importance of high frequencies? To put it simply, high frequencies feel good and draw good things to us.  Low frequencies feel bad, and draw bad things to us. Despite having broken this down before, I believe that it totally bears repeating. Everything throughout the entire cosmos is energy.  From the smallest subatomic particle to the biggest galaxy, it’s all energy.  Along the way energy changes form, sometimes taking tangible shape but frequently remaining intangible. Whether you believe
