Finding and/or Creating Positivity Can Be Challenging
But that doesn’t mean it’s not worthwhile.

It’s far too easy to feel sad, lost, and even hopeless in today’s world. So many things that make no sense have been almost normalized in distressing, depressing ways. It can feel like doom and gloom is all there is.
And for some, this timeline is completely awful. Nobody reasonable can deny that. Yet that doesn’t mean that we can’t find and/or create positivity in the world today.
This is not some Pollyanna, pie-in-the-sky, rose-colored-glasses idea I’m suggesting. No, this is about pausing and reflecting on the good things we all have, even in the face of an often bad, unfortunate, scary, and uncertain world.
This is because you have positive things in your life that you can find or create via a little bit of applied mindfulness.
How does that work?
Things to be positive about
Here’s the thing. Even with the world going mad (or at least seemingly so), you have things you can be positive about.
They might seem insignificant, inconsequential, even silly. Yet there are things you can choose to be positive about.
These include living, breathing, having the ability to read this, a mind, your spirit, your body, your home, people you love, people who love you, money, time, space, and on and on.
To be fair, I know that you might be struggling. Some of the above might not be entirely true for you. The point, however, remains the same. There are things, many things, readily available that you can be positive about.
Even if they’re tiny and insignificant, you have things that you can look at that you can be positive about. Size matters not. They exist. And that’s something.
From these small things, you can build bigger. You can find and/or create positivity. But this, of course, isn’t without its own challenges.
The challenges of finding and/or creating positivity
We live in crazy times. Lots of weird and unpleasant shit is happening out there. Many are suffering. You might be among them in one way or another.
However, you’re here. You are breathing, thinking, feeling, and so on. Ergo, you have the power for finding and/or creating positivity.
I know that might feel wrong. Disingenuous. Possibly selfish. But the thing is, when it comes to all the madness and craziness of the world at large, there is very, very little you can do about it. Like next to zero. Lamenting that and allowing it to dominate who, what, where, how, and/or why you are does you no good. That’s because it changes and fixes nothing.
So, instead, why not make consciously aware choices and decisions about your life? This is where choosing to find and/or create positivity opens you to more potential and possibility.
However, there are 2 important things to keep in mind about this. First, you can only do this for yourself. Sure, you can do things that help others find and/or create positivity in their lives. But you can only make your own and not anyone else’s.
Second, this must be nontoxic. That means the positivity recognizes, acknowledges, and works with negativity, because it can’t be ignored or denied.
When you pause and take stock, however, you can find and/or create positivity in many different ways. It’s just a matter of effort, energy, active conscious awareness, and mindful choices and decisions.

This is not selfish, wrong, bad, etc.
When you look at all the harm being done out there, it can feel like finding and/or creating positivity today is going to be harmful to others. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Consciousness creates reality. The more people who are accepting a world of madness, sadness, pain, and suffering open the way for more of the same. Obviously, with a few exceptions, this isn’t intentional. But because so many live life subconsciously, that’s what they’re drawing in.
You have the power to control your thoughts, feelings, intentions, positivity and negativity of approach, and your actions. Doing so empowers you. When you’re empowered, you can take charge of your life experience. Hence, you can find and/or create positivity for your own good.
When you are in a good place, you become a beacon. As a beacon, you light the way to help others find and/or create their own good place. While you can’t empower them, you can help them find their own empowerment. As a beacon, you’re a good example, and that can help others emulate the same.
How is that selfish, wrong, or bad? It’s not.
Finding and/or creating positivity can be challenging. But when positivity is key to empowerment, it’s utterly worthwhile, as are you.
Finding and/or creating positivity isn’t hard
It’s all about practicing active conscious awareness (mindfulness) of your thoughts, feelings, intentions, and the positivity or negativity of your approach to direct your actions.
Recognizing and acknowledging that you have multiple positive things in your life already, and that nontoxic positivity empowers and makes you stronger, you can make choices and decisions to find and/or create more positivity. Knowing that nontoxic positivity opens you to more potential and possibilities and helps you navigate the world even in difficult times, you can work with this to have, be, and do more for your life experience.
This empowers you. When you’re empowered, that can, in turn, empower others around you. That’s why I share these weekly posts with you.
Consciously choosing your approach to life towards positivity or negativity — from the vast cylinder that exists between them — shifts life in ways that open you to more potential, possibility, and the like. From there, you can recognize, explore, and share where you are between the extremes and how that impacts you in the here and now.
The more aware you are of yourself in the present, the better you can choose and decide what, how, and why your life experiences will be. When you empower yourself, it can spread to those around you and empower them, too. That is an amazing conduit to help reason overcome fear in the collective consciousness.
Thank you for coming along on this journey.
