How Do Desire and Want Differ?

Desire is an expression of abundance.

Want is an expression of lack.

When it comes to self-talk, it is imperative to be aware of the difference in these.

DesireConsciousness creates reality.  If we are focused on “wanting” something, we don’t realize that we are taking a lack approach.  Because words matter, it’s important to be aware of the power of what we say, and even how we say things.

This also applies to the words we think and don’t necessarily say.

For example, when we focus on wanting something, we are sending out to the universe a signal that may be saying, because I don’t think I have this or since this is lacking.  It is not a very empowering approach.

If, on the other hand, we focus on desiring something, we are sending out to the universe a signal that may be saying, because I know there is plenty or since there is abundance.  It is a much more empowering approach.

Do I have to police every single thought I have to look out for this subtle difference?  No…and yes.  When we actively work to employ techniques for manifestation, and work with conscious reality creation, we do have to take more intentional actions.

This, however, is like any muscle.  The more you use it, the more it becomes familiar, and you develop muscle memory.  Over time it becomes automatic, and you don’t even have to do much at all to put it to use.

Desire attracts positivity

Abundance is a product of higher-vibration frequencies.  All energy vibrates at various frequencies, and the higher frequencies are more powerful.  Like attracts like, and since WE are energy, we vibrate at frequencies, too.  In this way we consciously create reality.

Desire vs WantThe difference between want and desire is subtle, but important.  When we focus on doing things to build a life we desire, and to make choices and decisions along the way, every tool we can employ helps.  It all begins in thought, and thoughts frequently take the forms of words in our minds.  If we allow ourselves to begin the thought process with any negativity or scarcity, we put ourselves at greater risk of sabotage.

Thought becomes fueled by feeling.  Want and desire are both feelings.  If our feeling is want, and want is an expression of lack, then that’s like pumping regular gasoline into a high-performance engine.  Sure, it’ll work just fine…but it won’t work at its best and most optimal.  If our feeling is desire, and desire is an expression of abundance, then we’re using the super, high-octane stuff, and giving the engine the best we can.  Most people know that an engine constantly kept it its peak efficiency requires far less maintenance, and will be less troublesome along the way.

It helps to make use of every tool we have available to us.  Taking that into account, we can create some amazing things, and manifest a lot more positivity in the world.

Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require action.

Knowing that want is based in lack, while desire is based in abundance, we can choose the words we use to express our conscious reality creations with more care.  When we choose our words with more care, we raise our vibrational frequencies, better our manifestation abilities, and we ultimately empower ourselves.  When we feel empowered, we often spread that feeling to others around us, and as such can build more positive feelings.  We can use the positive feelings this generates to dissolve negative feelings.  When we take away negative feelings, we open up space to let in positive feelings, and that is something we can be grateful for.  Gratitude leads to happiness.  Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude.  Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.
