An Opportunity to Restart

There are many times where options for restarting or starting anew offer you an opportunity to find or create positivity.

Today is the start of the Jewish New Year. L’Shana Tovah to all of those who celebrate.

opportunityLike the Gregorian New Year that we celebrate every January 1st, this day presents a specific opportunity to begin anew, make a fresh start, and as such to find and/or create some new positivity in your life.

You get any number of calendar days presented to you that can be taken as an impetus for making new choices and decisions. For example, other days that can represent this opportunity include your birthday, the solstices, cycles of the moon, even the start of each new month.

In truth, every day is a new day and a new opportunity to restart, renew, and take a new path. You might find that notion exciting, and you might find it exhausting. That’s why these more specific and readily recognized times might represent a better, more cohesive option.

Why do I need to restart?

It is all-too-easy to go into a given day and just go with the flow. Some days this is a perfectly fine choice. To be sure, sometimes just going with the pattern of your day and a regular cycle is all the energy and brainpower you can muster. If, overall, you are content and finding satisfaction in your existence, by all means, carry on.

However, if you are more discontent than content, and desiring to make changes to those days, one way to do this is by finding and creating positivity.

Positivity is a conduit for feeling good. This is important because the only thing over which you can exert any real control is yourself. You cannot control anyone else, or the world at large, you only can alter yourself and all that you are and do.

To take that control, you need to practice mindfulness, which begins by being aware of what you are thinking, what and how you are feeling, and the intention behind any of your actions.

In this process, if you are seeking good and better things for your life, it begins with your thoughts and feelings. The best way to make intentional changes to your life is to raise your vibrational frequency.

Energy, frequency, and you

When all is said and done, at the deepest core of your being you are energy. That energy, like all energy, vibrates at a frequency. That frequency is not locked into only one channel – it can be altered. When you are feeling bad, and negative, you are vibrating at a low frequency. Conversely, when you are feeling good and positive, you are vibrating at a high frequency.

opportunityYes, this is going to bring us to the Law of Attraction, which a lot of people think of as bullshit. The notion that like attracts like, to many people, is too puerile and out-there. That’s fine, what you believe is entirely up to you. However – I know that if I am feeling low, depressed, and stripped of energy, I tend to far too readily find more to enhance that negativity than to turn it around.

This is why making the decision to find and/or create positivity matters. I don’t know about you, but I do not like feeling low, depressed, sad, angry, or otherwise negative. So when I recognize whether negativity or positivity is dominating my mindset, I have the opportunity to change it.

Just to be clear, I am in no way saying that you should never feel negative. Shit happens, and when it does feeling bad is a natural response. What’s more, anger and other negative emotions can be channeled into making positive changes. Allowing yourself to wallow in negativity and let it dominate your overall mindfulness, however, is just going to increase its frequency.

Why an opportunity to restart empowers you

Holidays like the Jewish New Year or your birthday can be a natural point for contemplation and evaluation. They offer a natural timeframe to see if you are being mindful and driving your own life, or not. If the answer is not something you desire, you now have a point at which to begin anew, make a fresh start, and decide on different choices to take control.

In a world so overstuffed with negativity, there is a need for more positivity overall. The higher frequency may not just uplift you, but those around you. If you desire to change in any way, look at how this calendar time makes a perfect point to do something new and/or different.

Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require mindfulness

Knowing you can use mindfulness to make changes and find or create more positivity is all well-and-good, but doing so on any given day can be extra challenging. When you see that a day like the Jewish or Gregorian New Year or your birthday is an opportunity to choose anew, that ultimately empowers you. When you feel empowered, your mindfulness increases, you become more aware overall, and that tends to spread to other people around you.

As such, you can build more positive feelings and discover more things to feel positivity and gratitude.

Gratitude leads to happiness. Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude. An attitude of gratitude is an attitude of positivity that begets even more good energies – and that, like you, is always worthwhile.
