Positivity: Sunlight
I don’t know about you, but I am solar powered.
I love the sun. I love the touch of sunlight on my face, and I love it’s warmth upon my skin. There is something very refreshing, calming, and enlightening about sunlight.
Many a day has been improved when I have stepped into the sunlight. The brightness of course in certain circumstances can be a bit overwhelming, but for the most part it is an incredible feeling, and it can generate amazing positivity.
Scientifically speaking, we know that we humans need sunlight. The sun regulates our sleeping and waking cycles, it provides Vitamin D that nourishes our skin and our overall wellbeing. Unlike plants which get their energy directly from sunlight through photosynthesis, our solar nourishment is more indirect, but still very necessary.
Everyone has a different relationship with sunlight. Some people turn red as a lobster from the slightest time beneath the star’s rays. Some people turn a deeper shade of gold or brown or bronze in sunlight, and relish in the glow that might produce. Still others simply have no real reaction to the sun, and like show no outward signs of its hidden support of our wellbeing.
Like most things in life, sunlight should be absorbed in moderation. We need to be mindful of ultraviolet rays and the danger of overexposure and the unfortunate effects that might produce. This does not, however, negate the positive energy that sunlight generates.
Sunlight has inspired numerous songs, stories, myths and legends. The sun provides us with not just light, but enlightenment, illumination, and a source of togetherness that spans every one of us no matter our race, creed, color or whatnot. We all live under the sun, and beneath its caress we grow, and change, and evolve. Sunlight all by itself can turn the negative to positive with a subtle touch, as it can drive darkness from our eyes and our hearts and souls.
This is not, of course, a one-size-fits-all matter. There are some who find greater Positivity in moonlight, starlight, or even under an overcast grey sky. But sunlight feeds the flora of our world, and that in turn feeds us in innumerable ways. Sunlight is the ultimate reactor for generating positive energies.
I find that even if I am feeling alone, dismayed, disturbed, or otherwise discontent, a few moments of sunlight will reawaken my positive energies, just as the sun awakens the body from sleep. Whether under the sky or through a window, sunlight brings a sense of peace and wellbeing that can go an incredible distance in the generation of Positivity.
Finding positivity is not hard, it just requires action. Knowing that you can seek out the warmth and comfort of sunlight reinforces your positive energies. This natural wonder of our world brings life to everyone and everything, and a sense of renewal and restoration to the mind, the body, and the soul. Sunlight can inspire and amaze, stir wonder and amazement, and all of these things build up Positivity. Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.
This is the twelfth entry of my Positivity series. It is my hope these weekly messages might help spread positive energies for everyone. Feel free to reblog and spread the positivity.
