Positivity Now? Yes, Now More Than Ever

The world needs all the genuine, nontoxic positivity it can get.

No, I’m not deluded. And no, I am not in any way, shape, or form suggesting ignoring, disregarding, or pretending what’s going on out there isn’t happening.

What I am suggesting is that we cannot put all our focus on negativity. Why? Because consciousness creates reality. The more we focus on the negative, the more attention that we give it, the more it grows, gains power, and dominates our everything.

How can you put any focus or attention on positivity when the world is going mad? By putting your focus on options, solutions, potential, possibilities, and what’s good in your personal life here and now.

I don’t know what you’re going through. You might be suffering in a myriad of mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, or some combination of these ways. It’s entirely possible that the only thing you have going for you is that you’re still here, right now, alive and kicking.

And that’s not nothing, to be blunt.

Let’s face it. Shit is always going down. People are terrible to each other, governments crap all over everyone and everything, robber barons do unethical things to get stupid wealthy, and on and on. Look at the history of the world, and you’ll see this all too clearly. Of course, to add insult to injury, most people ignore past lessons, so we find ourselves in these awful circumstances again and again.

That’s why we need positivity now, more than ever. So where can you find it?

Think globally, start locally

A few important facts. First, you, and only you, are in your head, heart, and soul. Nobody can think, feel, act, choose a positive or negative approach, intend, or do anything for you but you. Even if you cede some control, you are, ultimately, who makes you, you. All choices and decisions made and not made are on you.

Second, what you can do about the outside world, apart from observing it, is massively limited. You can vote, attend protests, bombard your congresspeople with emails/calls/letters, boycott awful businesses, and that’s about it. You cannot control anyone or anything else. That’s because you are not in anyone else’s head, heart, or soul. More than that, you can’t make anyone else think, do, feel, or otherwise be how you want them to be.

Third, this moment, right now, is the only real time. The past has come and gone. It can’t be undone, redone, done over, or otherwise altered. The whole premise of MAGA falls flat because of this truth. You cannot return to what was (especially when the idea is biased, false, and otherwise not reality). The future is unwritten, uncertain, and unpredictable. No matter how much you plan, prepare, or prep, you have next to no control over any outcome in the future.

Only here, now, in this present moment, do you have any control at all. And all the control you have is centered on and around you. And only you. Because consciousness creates reality, if all your focus is on the awfulness, the crap, the horror, the fear, it will dominate everything. When it does, that utterly disempowers you.

Why? Because all these awful things kill hope. They create only negative things, and that disempowers you. That’s why you need to think globally but start locally.

Hope. Empowerment. We need positivity now more than ever.

Positivity now is not selfish, disingenuous, or wrong

When you see so much suffering out in the world, unless you’re a sociopath, you feel empathy and maybe sympathy, too. Seeing the hate, the fear, the terror, the insanity, makes it feel like any and all positivity is misplaced and wrong.

But it’s not. Because consciousness creates reality, we need positive things to give us moments of joy, create hope, and see potential and possibility even in these dark, disturbing times.

How can you apply positivity without ignoring what’s happening? By recognizing and acknowledging what’s going on, but not giving it your whole, total, complete, and undivided attention.

You can know, recognize, and acknowledge the madness without absorbing it. You just need to choose not go down all the rabbit holes and follow the news every second of every day. Live your life and do your best to be your best to live as fully as you can.

Recognize, acknowledge, and celebrate your victories. Getting out of bed, taking a shower, and getting your day going is positivity. Eating a real meal instead of a bag of chips and a half-dozen Oreos is positivity. Holding the door for a stranger is positivity.

It takes very little to find and/or create positivity. But the cumulative effect is immeasurable. That’s because you empower yourself. When you’re empowered, you become a beacon of light in the dark. The more beacons of light in the world, the more we can drive out the darkness.

Rather than disregard positivity to show solidarity for those suffering, use it instead to help yourself and help them to find things to be for; options, potential, and possibilities to improve matters; and other ways to empower ourselves and, from there, help to empower others.

Thus, we need positivity now more than ever.

Seeing the importance of positivity now more than ever isn’t hard

It’s all about practicing active conscious awareness (mindfulness) of your thoughts, feelings, intentions, and the positivity or negativity of your approach to direct your actions.

When you recognize and acknowledge that you are incredibly limited when it comes to doing anything about the madness of the world, you can turn inward and take action to find and/or create positivity in and for your life. Knowing that it’s not selfish or disingenuous, even now, to find and/or create positivity, you can use this to be here now, seek potential and possibility, and be a beacon of light to fight the madness and darkness of the world.

This empowers you, and your empowerment can empower others around you.

Consciously choosing your approach to life towards positivity or negativity — from the vast cylinder that exists between them — shifts life in a way that opens greater dialogue. From that dialogue, you can recognize, explore, and share where you are between the extremes and how that impacts you here and now.

Choosing thoughts, feelings, actions, and intentions for yourself opens the way for a positive approach and attitude via your actions. This can lead to realizing amazing potential and possibilities for your life.

The better aware you are of yourself, here and now, the better you can choose and decide what, how, and why your life experiences will be. When you empower yourself, it can spread to those around you and empower them as well. That is an amazing conduit to help reason to overcome fear in the collective consciousness.

Thank you for coming along on this journey.
