What Do You Do With Your Freedom?

If you are reading this, you probably have freedom. Freedom means a great deal.  In the USA, freedom means the right to gather peacefully, to protest injustice, to love whom we choose, to worship as we wish, to express ourselves, and more.  The positivity of this is immeasurable. However, there are things we are going to see in a free country that we do not approve of.  White supremacists and neo-Nazis waving flags and taking to the streets is not

What Makes For Success?

You name it, I will write it.   Does this let me be a success? I love to work on fiction.  I began writing sci-fi at age nine, and I have been working on my fantasy series, The Source Chronicles, for about twenty years.   There is something about fantastic worlds that I just love to write out.  It’s exciting, and frequently invigorating. Almost six years ago I began regularly blogging.  One weekly post has become three, and the theme of the

Who Gives You Permission?

You need nobody’s permission to walk your own path in life. But you will receive an awful lot of advice, and help both useful and not from people. When you decide to walk your own path, if, like mine, it is in any way unconventional, people will question it.  When enough people question what you have chosen, inevitably YOU will begin to question it, too. We all have people in our lives who feel they have carte blanche in regards

Are You Having Fun?

Never neglect doing things that are fun. When I was between 11 and 14, I went to overnight camps in upstate New York.  Sometimes we would take hiking treks offsite.  On two or three occasions, we went hiking at a place called Kaaterskill Falls. I absolutely loved this hike.  The falls are in two levels, the middle level having a clear pool one can swim in, and a natural amphitheater behind the falls.  This was one of the hiking adventures

How Joy Empowers Us

Living in joy is the ultimate goal. I don’t want to spend my time at a desk, working for someone I might not entirely respect, doing something that bores me.  Life is just too short for that.  Rather, I want to do something that makes me happy. Have you ever been told that “You have to work for a living” or “you gotta do what you gotta do” or “you have to make ends meet” or similar?  Likely, I suspect

How Does Self-Doubt Impact You?

Self-doubt and indecision will complicate Pathwalking. I strive to be less doubtful about who I am, and to do better with making decisions about my life.  Pathwalking is about choosing for myself, rather than letting random chance just happen. Yet I still question if I am deserving of this.  I doubt myself, my abilities to do the things I want to do.  This in turn can make me indecisive, and I get stuck in uncertainty. Self-doubt comes from many places.

How Do Your People Create Positivity?

Your people are a huge contributor to positivity. There is a difference between people, and YOUR people.  People in the general sense of the world, like the population of the planet, can be utterly infuriating.  But YOUR people are those whom you hold close.  Your confidants, family, friends and loved ones. We all have individuals that improve our lives.  Members of the human race that help us find calm, find happiness and peace and joy.  There is someone out there

Is Change Good or Bad?

Change is a good thing. Yet this terrifies us.  Change leads to the unknown, and in our fear-based society, the unknown frightens us. I know that to some degree, this is a survival instinct.  When we lived in caves, and had a limited knowledge of anything but the immediate geography, the unknown beyond was almost unimaginable.  What kind of creatures are over that mountain?  Are there monsters in the sea?  Does that village we see smoke from contain cannibals? Some

Do You Love Yourself?

Do you love yourself? This is not a trick question.  How do you feel about yourself? Modern society tends to look askance at self-love.  Why?  Because our society frequently deals in extremes, and on this scale the extremes are selfishness and selflessness. A great deal of our fear-based society focuses on greedy, intolerant, ignorant, selfish people.  Government, religious and business leaders frequently show us exactly that.  Selfishness in the extreme, to the detriment of everyone else. Because that’s such a

How Is Education Empowering?

Ignorance may be bliss, but education is empowerment. The more we learn, the more we become capable of.  The more abilities we develop, the more skills we hone, the abler we are to change the world for the better. One of the failings of many of our leaders is their desire to keep us ignorant.  It’s a matter of their retention of control to keep us reliant on them for our understanding of certain matters.  Rather than empower, they prefer
