How Does Giving Create Positivity?
Giving is an amazing force for Positivity.
Some people go through this life and make accommodations for others, take time to help people in a myriad of ways, and do things for people without a second thought. They are people who give time, energy and more, so that others may benefit. They don’t even consider what they do to be giving.
Giving is a powerful tool. We have an amazing capacity to give on an incredible number of levels. We can give both material and immaterial things that will change the lives of the people around us. This, in turn, creates change in our own lives.
Often this is small. You give someone a smile, a nod, a wave…and unknowingly brighten their day. Sometimes it is larger, like a hug or a cup of coffee or holding open a door. Once in a while this is tremendous, giving hours of your time for another’s benefit, donating blood, marching in a protest, or raising funds to help someone in need.
No matter the size or amount of effort involved, giving is a powerful creator of positivity. We can give a piece of ourselves to help improve the lives of others in many ways, shapes and forms…and we can do so frequently.
Make certain before you give that you have the energy and wherewithal to give. It is impossible to give when you are running on empty, lacking, and not feeling good about yourself. If you are in a place of futility and frustration giving will not feel good. You are better off making certain that you are giving from a place of abundance, in order to give in the most full and meaningful way.
Giving from a place of abundance matters.
It is important to be aware of how the act of giving makes you feel, and be certain you are giving and not sacrificing. The universe is a place of abundance, and there is more than enough for everyone. Thus, sacrifice is not a necessary component of giving and generating positivity. When you sacrifice to give to another, you are empowering the lack mentality. Consciousness creates reality, and going without in order to “give” creates more lack rather than abundance.
Sacrifice doesn’t feel good, and is very different from giving. Where sacrifice is a message in lack, giving is a message of abundance. It’s imperative to make certain that you give from a place of abundance, in order to give in the most full and meaningful way. The act of giving should empower both you and the person(s) in receipt of your gifts.
It is also important when you are giving to know the difference between those who receive, and those who take. When what you give is received with gratitude, positivity and goodwill are created. When what you give is taken, and it is not considered adequate or sufficient and/or no gratitude has been expressed, negativity and resentment may be created. You may feel emotionally depleted, and find not only that you are not creating positivity, but in fact generating negativity.
To give feels good. It creates positive energy both for you as the giver, and the person in receipt of whatever you are giving. Generosity creates feelings of gratitude, and that generates more positivity.
Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require action.
Knowing that giving can create vast amounts of positivity, you can make it a practice, great or small, to be a generous and giving soul. When we give from a place of abundance, we feel more abundant, and thus empower ourselves. When we feel empowered, we frequently spread that feeling to others around us; as such, we can build more positive feelings in the collective consciousness. We can use the positive feelings this generates to dissolve negative feelings. When we take away negative feelings, we open up space to let in positive feelings, and that is something we can be grateful for. Gratitude leads to happiness. Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude. Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.
