Positivity: Negativity
Negativity is a fact of life.
Without negativity, we cannot experience positivity. While it is important to find positivity and to feel positive as you go through life, denying the existence of the negative is an unhealthy option.
There are always extremes and extremists in the world. Good and evil, light and dark, tall and short, old and young, and so on and so forth. Most of us will live between the extremes, in the grey area, the middle ground, the multitude of colors across the spectrum and such.
While we generally live in the in-between of the extremes, most of us will lean one way or another. But in order to know what our options are, we need to be cognizant of these extremes. We need to know how these will effect us, and what that will mean in our lives.
This is why positivity is so very important. If you focus on the negativity of the world, you draw more of that to you. What you put your energy towards is what you are going to manifest along the way. This is why focusing on the positive is a means to draw more to ourselves.
While for the most part negativity is undesirable, largely because it will not make us feel good, sometimes it is still necessary. Sometimes we need to experience the negatives to know that a situation is not good for us, that a relationship is failed, that the paths we have chosen for our lives are sub-optimal. So for these reasons the negativity is in fact a positive thing.
I recognize that this is a paradox, but it is also proof as to why it is important to live between the extremes of the universe. When the negative happens, you get to choose how you will react to it, and what you do with it. You get to choose if you will continue to focus on the negativity and give it more power and energy, or if you will change your focus to the more positive, and give that your energies.
Positivity feels good. Negativity does not feel good. I do not know anyone who does not want to feel good. That stated, then it is a logical conclusion that a positive attitude is better for our mental, spiritual, emotional and even physical health than a negative attitude. However, negativity still serves an important purpose in our world: showing the opposite extreme.
Though it is not a place to dwell, the negative can still be a generator for the positive.
Finding positivity is not hard, it just requires action. Knowing that negativity cannot be avoided or eliminated, you can choose how to react to it on a case by case basis. There are numerous reasons to experience negativity, but you can choose whether to enrobe yourself in negative feelings or positive ones. When we take away negative feelings, we open up space to let in positive feelings, and that is something we can be grateful for. Gratitude leads to happiness. Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude. Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.
