How Does Thought Drive the Universe?

Thought is one of the main driving forces of the Universe.

Everything that ever was, currently is, or ever shall be begins with thought.  Somewhere there was an idea that led to a feeling from which action was taken.  Thus is reality as we know it made manifest.

There are certain aspects of our reality that are completely universal.  The sun, moon and stars, air, water, earth, and so on.  But even these can be altered by thought.  There are currently colors of roses that were created by mankind.  Water nurtures plants in deserts entirely by our design.  Solar cells transform sunlight to energy.

We humans are capable of manifesting absolutely amazing things.  It is possible for us all to live bigger, better, healthier, happier lives, when we choose conscious reality creation.

The question that comes to mind is, how come we live in such a chaotic world?  If consciousness creates reality, then how did we get to this somewhat scary place we’re at right now?   The simple answer is a lack of awareness, allowing for the subconscious to create reality.

I am in no way knocking teachers, schools and education.  However, while we are taught reading, writing, arithmetic, languages, science and social studies, we are not taught the difference between conscious and subconscious thought.

Consciousness is awareness.  Consciousness is active, premeditated, and receptive.  Subconsciousness is passive, unintentional and inattentive.  Subconsciousness goes with the flow and allows things to happen, while consciousness directs the flow and MAKES things happen.

Society has certain expectations of us.  Go to school, get a job, go to work, raise a family, retire.  Everything in between is supporting structures like friends, family, weekends, play, vacations, self-care and such.

Anyone and anything not following the societal expectation gets looked upon askance.

Active thought can create opposition.

While we are all, at our deepest core the same, all of us being energy, we are also completely different.  This is because of thought.  No two people think alike.  No matter how similar our thought process and general ideas and notions might be, we still take different approaches to them.

A lot of this is nature versus nurture, life experience, cultural indoctrination, education, and numerous other factors.  We all had different experiences growing up, which shaped us and our thought processes differently.  As a result of this, we each individually form our thoughts in our own way.

But then we have to account for the Law of Attraction.  Like attracts like.  People with similar mindsets come together to share their experiences.  Yet even with similar mindsets, they still think differently.  Everyone creates their own thoughts in their own ways, and that may produce a similar end result, but we still have our individual differences.

When people turn over their active thought process to their passive subconscious thought, they get carried along in the current.  They let whatever collective consciousness they have connected with float them down the river.  And that is, I believe, how we get cults, blind faith followers, and Trump supporters.

It is easy and often comfortable to let your subconscious do the driving.  In especial when you have fallen into a particular pattern for your day.  Thus, when we begin choosing to be more aware, and consciously create reality, there may be opposition.

While we are not, in fact, in competition with one another, because our collective consciousness is rooted in a fear-based society with a lack mentality, competition has been artificially created.

Please note that I am in no way advocating for participation trophies for everyone.

Individual thought does not create competition.

There are healthy forms of competition.  I have been fencing for 26 years, and I know I am more capable and skilled than some, and less capable and skilled than others.  Professional sports are healthy competition (at least in regards to the participating athletes).  Merit has merit.  If we regarded merit with more importance than we currently do, the American government would not look like it currently does.

We often do not differentiate between healthy and unhealthy competition.  We end up competing for love, abundance, happiness, acceptance, wealth, opportunities, and so on.  Because the collective consciousness is rooted in fear and lack, we believe there is not enough of these things to go around.

But the Universe is an abundant Universe.  There is plenty of love, abundance, happiness, acceptance, wealth, opportunity and so on for everyone.  When we become aware of our thought, we gain the ability to touch upon this for real.  We get to manifest our lives to be something apart from the collective consciousness.

I get that some people are perfectly content to just be.  More power to you if you are happy going with the flow.  For those of us that want something more than what we are presented with, Pathwalking is choosing to use thought and feeling to drive intentional action to manifest something that excites us.

Thought is the driving force behind the inventions that have connected us in ways considered unimaginable half a century ago.  We have instant global communications, information at our fingertips far beyond anyone but certain sci-fi writers’ imaginations.  When we think for ourselves, our thoughts can create incredible things.

Be aware of your thought.

Consider what you are thinking, and how you are feeling.  Thought is just the beginning.  Where we go from there, however, can be absolutely incredible.  Thought suffused with feeling inspires intentional action…and that can shape your world as you’d like it to be.

How Do You Think, Feel and Act on Positivity?

You can think positive all you want.  However, if you put nothing behind it, no energy, feeling, or action, it will be ineffective.

ThinkI am pretty sure that everything has at one point or another been exposed to the notion of the “power of positive thinking”.  On the surface, the idea that if you think good and positive thoughts, life will be better in numerous ways.

Too easy, right?  Well, that’s not untrue.  Think whatever you want, positive or negative, but without corresponding feeling, you can’t manifest anything at all.

When I began writing positivity almost four years ago, it was in reaction to posts all across social media of almost hopeless negativity.  I wanted to offer a different, positive perspective, in order to provide an alternative to the prevailing attitude.

Positivity follows the basic principles of conscious reality creation.  THINK positive, yes, but also FEEL positive and make an intentional ACT from there.  Thinking positive is a third of the equation, and if you do not feel it, you won’t act on it, and positivity will not be generated.

In the current climate of our world, this is really hard.  Our government is doing unspeakably awful things against the people they are supposed to be representing.  Corporate greed is surreal.  The world stage is fairly messy, and let’s not even go into any detail about climate change, revelations of sexual harassers, and so on.

Pretty daunting, right?  It is.  Yet still, finding positivity among all of this negativity is imperative.  I am in no way advocating ignoring these issues.  But rather than give them a ton of attention and endless focus, we need to seek positive things to think and feel about.  Like attracts like.  Want more good things, or bad?  I know which I prefer.

Think, feel, and act on positivity in the here-and-now.

Society has an unhealthy obsession with the past and the future.  I am unsure why, but that’s how we operate.  When we place our energies in the here-and-now, though, we gain awareness of the world around us, but more than that we become aware of ourselves.  This is where generating positivity is most important.

Think, Feel, ActWhen you ask yourself How am I feeling? or What am I thinking? or the like, you immediately become aware of the now.  When you are aware of the now, you know what your prevailing thoughts are.  It is here-and-now that you can at least take a moment to think, feel, and act on positivity.

It may not seem like much, but every major change begins with a single, small step.

Think and feel positivity.  Action will come of that, and we can improve the world around us in this way.

Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require action.

Knowing that to think positive is just the beginning, we can work from there to feel it as well.  When we take the thought of positivity and feel it, then act upon it, we can make it manifest, and with that we empower ourselves.  When we feel empowered, we frequently spread that feeling to others around us; as such, we can build more positive feelings in the collective consciousness.  We can use the positive feelings this generates to dissolve negative feelings.  When we take away negative feelings, we open up space to let in positive feelings, and that is something we can be grateful for.  Gratitude leads to happiness.  Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude.  Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.

How Does Pathwalking Lead to Manifestation?

Consciousness creates reality.  Think it, feel it, act upon it, and the manifestation of your desire can come into being.

I know that this feels like a lie.  Despite how topsy-turvy and chaotic the world at large currently is, the truth of this does not change.

However, in order to manifest anything into reality, there are several truths we need to embrace.  Not just accept or acknowledge, but really embrace.  These truths can feel like lies, because they run counter to society, and much of the collective consciousness.

The first truth when it comes to manifestation is that we live in an abundant Universe.  This particular notion is obviously desirable, I mean, who doesn’t want abundance?  But we live in a fear-based society where we are constantly bombarded by lack and scarcity.  We are frequently told that there is not enough of ‘x’ to go around, that we are out of ‘y’, and so on.

Most of the truly awful people in government today got there by playing off the fears of constituencies.  The “they”, be it race, gender, foreigner, religion other than yours, and so forth – the “they” will take the limited resources away from you.  They sell it, perpetuate the fear of it, and people eat it up like the tastiest banquet there is.

The truth, however, is the opposite of this.  We live in a Universe of abundance, of more-than-enough, of unfathomable possibility.  Find that hard to believe?  Do you realize how gargantuan the whole of the cosmos is?  The stars, the galaxies, the planets?  Distances on a scale most human minds can’t calculate?  That abundance applies to everything.

When we break free of the societal expectations, and we recognize that this is an abundant Universe, almost anything is possible.

There is a paradox to the notion of manifestation.

On the one hand, manifesting your dreams into reality is stunningly easy.  On the other hand, however, this is majorly challenging.

Yes, we can manifest almost anything we can imagine.  Key word here, however, is almost.  You cannot become a world-class brain surgeon is you do not study medicine to begin with.  You cannot create mythical beings if you are not some kind of geneticist.  Basically, there has to be at least some form of path you are following from where you are now to where you want to go.

Yet anything is possible.  Sure, you can’t become an astronaut without being a scientist, or in the military, or otherwise in training to be an astronaut.  That is, unless you buy a seat on a Virgin Galactic flight.  Oh look, you CAN be an astronaut.

Further, you can’t just wish something into being.   I want a million dollars to appear in my bank account!  Sorry, it won’t just appear.

That’s not to say you cannot make a way to manifest the money.  It begins with the thought – I want a million dollars.  From this thought, you have to feel it out.  What will it feel like to receive a million dollars?  How excited will I be?  What will I do?  How will I react?  What means are there by which I can feel this happening to me?

This is not just a feeling like, oh, that would be nice.  Or maybe someday.  You have to feel it in the here-and-now, as though it has already happened.  It’s totally and completely real.  You have the million dollars.

Manifestation does require some action.

You have to take an action.  Maybe it’s Photoshopping a million dollars into your bank statement.  You write that blog you never started, but always wanted to.  That novel you finished you need to go ahead and self-publish.  Perhaps you need to Google how to get that idea you have for that invention to someone who can create it.  Apply for that job, whether you think you are qualified for it or not.

Big or small, if you feel the inspiration to act, act.  Manifestation is the end result of conscious reality creation, and nearly everything we want to manifest comes of thought, feeling, and action.  Without intentional actions of some sort, we often get stuck without achieving our goals.

Just taking some sort of intentional action is a step in the right direction.  However, it has to be intentional.  If you are acting just for the sake of taking action, you will not be effecting your conscious reality creation.  It has to be a logical step that you want to take after your thought and feeling.  The action should feel natural, make you feel as if you are advancing your intent to manifest whatever it is you are after, and incite you to find more actions to help the process.

When all is said and done, working on manifesting any given thing can cause a useful feedback loop.  Think it, feel it out, take an action, new thoughts arise…new feelings come up, and from there you take more actions…which lead to new thoughts, new feelings…and so on.

This is a fun, feel good process.  Conscious reality creation is exciting, and manifesting dreams into reality feels incredible.  It is in order to manifest the life I most desire that I began Pathwalking in the first place.

Manifestation empowers.

When we actively work on manifesting our dreams, we empower ourselves.  It is through this process that we feel out new strength, explore new possibilities, and truly take control of the lives we most want to lead.

Which do you want to do – let life live you, curl up in a ball and wait for death, or grab life like the bull by the horns and ride it for all you are worth?  Pathwalking is about making the most of this life, choosing and deciding for ourselves to create the best we can, and getting more out of everything we have.  I certainly know what I prefer.

Can Positivity Manifest a Better World?

We have the ability manifest anything we need in life.

ManifestMany people believe, because society believes, that manifesting the life you most desire is just fantasy.  Hooky-spooky BS.  Delusional.  The pipe dream of the hippy-crunchy-granola new-agey types.

In truth, it is more than just possible.  It is.  Consciousness can create reality

Manifestation is not a simple process.  It requires energy, it requires action.  To manifest anything you want, you need to believe that it is possible.  You cannot doubt that it will be, you have to make it real.  One cannot simply THINK it – you have to FEEL it.  It is unbelievably important that you feel this, right to your core.  You have to have thought, but to take it further you have to have feeling.

There has to be action.  We have to act upon what we want to manifest.  Often, the action is as simple as saying you have whatever you desire to make manifest right here, right now.

One problem that arises is that we want to know HOW.  We want to know how this thing will come to be.  But as soon as you get caught up in the how, you break the energy you want to create, and you lose the ability to manifest.  Because you get so caught up in the HOW, you cannot feel the positive energy for the creation of the manifestation.

I will not deny that this feels impractical.  To be able to work with this requires a certain amount of faith, and belief.  Not a belief not in any sort of almighty power or some other-worldly thing.  It is about faith in your own power, your own connection to the universe and your ability to use that connection to build dreams.

We can manifest a better world.

You have to believe in the abundance of the universe – which, even on a good day, can feel REALLY difficult.  If you even catch a glimpse of a news report, it is disturbing at best, often escalating to upsetting and outrageous.  But even with all of that happening out there, we have the ability within ourselves to manifest amazing lives.

ManifestI have done it.  More than once I have managed to manifest what I needed.  It was not easy, because the HOW frequently trips me up…but I have done it.  I’ve blogged about that a time or two.  Even having succeeded in manifesting things, both material and rather immaterial, because my mind wraps around the concept of HOW I cannot repeat the process easily.   Yet I can tell you, without a shred of doubt, that it can be done.

Positivity in the process is essential.  When we are focused on bad things and negativity, guess what we are likely to manifest?  If we concentrate on positives, and find good things to think about, this will let us generate more positive feelings.

We can use manifestation to build positivity.  No matter what the world tells us, positivity can be made manifest.  It is simply a matter of thought, feeling, and action.  Think it, FEEL it, and ACT upon its creation, here-and-now, as though it is manifest before you have it.

Right here, right now, we are more capable of manifesting amazing things.  You have the power.  Think it, feel it, put it to good use and make your own corner of the universe the best place you can.

How Is Pathwalking Mindful?

When we are mindful of our thoughts, feelings and actions, we can walk any path.

The key to doing this is to work on spending more time in the here-and-now.  When we are mindful of where we are, at this very moment, we empower ourselves to best walk the paths for the lives we desire.

Mindfulness is awareness.  When we are aware, we have control.  Pathwalking is about taking control of the life we lead, so being mindful is imperative to success along the path.  If we are aware of what we’re thinking, how we are feeling, and from that what actions we intentionally are taking, we can make more informed and desired choices.

Being in the here-and-now, which I have discussed before, can be a particular challenge.  Why?  Because our society has this maniacal obsession with the past and the future.

We are constantly looking back at what was.  I know I am using this example a lot, but it’s really hard not to these days: Look at current American politics.  There is this obsession with taking us “back” to a time and place that never actually existed.  Recreating a nation of “values” and “morals” that existed, at best, in 1950’s television and movies.

On the other side of that coin, we’re frequently discussing the future.  We are looking ahead to things that don’t exist yet, even though they could.  We want to build this utopian world that might be possible, but is nearly equally as non-existent as the world that some want us to go back to that never was.

Here and now is where we have balance.  But when we live in the here-and-now, we have to pay attention to the world around us.  That would require accountability.

Being accountable is being mindful.

Another problem in modern society is a major lack of accountability.  Everyone finds someone to blame for this, that or the other thing.  We blame our parents for our emotional issues as adults.  Hell, the President tells outright lies and is seldom called out on it.  We almost take pride in avoiding being responsible for our feelings, thoughts or actions.

The sad truth is that accountability is not tremendously important in this society. Why does that matter?  Because when we do not take responsibility for our own actions, let alone our thoughts and feelings, we haven’t the strength to consciously create reality, let alone anything else.

When we are aware of what we are thinking, it allows us to be mindful of what we are feeling.  When I am thinking, damn this society is screwed up, that leads to my feeling sad, depressed, and angry.  If I do not accept this, and don’t take accountability for it, I can’t change it.

When I do take responsibility for how I am thinking and feeling, I can take control of them.  Rather than focus on my negative thoughts, I can instead think, if I write about conscious reality creation, that can be shared to spread more positivity.  From there, I will start to feel good about what I am doing, and that in turn will put me back in control.

When we think and feel negative, then act from there, consciously or subconsciously, we tend to create other than what we want.  Further, if we are not accountable for that creation, creating something new and better becomes that much more challenging.  This is why we need to be mindful of thoughts and feeling.

The mindful path is where we are now.

Being in the here-and-now allows us to truly be mindful of everything.  When we aren’t looking back to the past or ahead to the future, right here, right now, we just ARE.  This is the ultimate awareness, and this is where our paths can be found, traversed, and changed.

This is the hardest lesson for me much of the time.  I get caught up in all these outside influences, and lose track of the here-and-now.  When I work to be in the now, I can do more with my thoughts and feelings, and with that take better actions.

How do I stay in the here-and-now?  I need to ask myself more frequently, What am I thinking?  What am I feeling?  How am I feeling?  Where is my mind?  What am I thinking about?  What am I focused on?  Any one of this questions will snap my attention to the now.

It is so stunningly easy to lose track of the now.  Start browsing through Facebook or Twitter and see how long it takes you to get lost in social commentaries.  Watch how easily you can become flustered by news of idiocy and amoral politics.  Before you know it, you’re angry, feeling depressed, and your subconscious mind is driving the bus.

During the day, as we go about our activities and routines, it’s really easy to let our subconscious take control.  Because we tend to be utterly unaware of things, in particular our own hearts and minds, this becomes more and more the norm.  But we can do something about that.  We can be mindful of what we are thinking, how we are feeling, and what actions we take from there.

Being mindful is not as hard as it first appears.

This is my challenge for putting Pathwalking into practice for the next week.  I am going to ask myself at least two of the above questions three times a day for a week, and WRITE IT DOWN.  Not only will this keep me mindful of what I am thinking and feeling, but the action will make me accountable for it.

The goal of this practice is to make myself more aware in the here-and-now.  I believe that doing this will let me be a far better Pathwalker, and allow me to truly consciously create the reality I want to see.  Care to join me in this endeavor?

What Is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is self-awareness.  It is knowing what you are thinking, how you are feeling, and who you are intent on being.

MindfulnessIt’s continuously amazing to me how easily we lose sight of mindfulness.  We get caught up in all the things around us, the attitudes and feelings of the people we surround ourselves with, and that in turn can overtake our own mindfulness.

Why is this important?  When someone is telling you about their bad day, or you are reading about the awful news from around the world, bombarded with stories of oppression, greed and people doing bad things to people – your mood, your attitude and your feelings are directly affected.

The idea of Positivity is to try and view life from a positive perspective.  Negative begets negative, and positive begets positive.  If you are looking at life through a dark and unpleasant lens, you will see an abundance of the dark and unpleasant things.  However, if you see life through a light and clear lens, you are now able to see it all.

Mindfulness is not about blindly seeing nothing but positive and happy and such.  It is about being aware of your thoughts and feelings.  It is about taking into account your surroundings, your mindset, your situation, your present self.  Being mindful is the first step towards being aware, and being aware is how you can choose to live more positively or more negatively.

How do I express mindfulness?

The simplest and easiest way to recognize mindfulness is to ask yourself direct questions.  What am I thinking?  What am I feeling?  How am I feeling?  Where is my mind?  What am I thinking about?  What am I focused on?  We are constantly asking our friends, families, coworkers, even random strangers questions like these.  Yet it is infrequent of us to direct these questions inwards.  Thus we lose mindfulness.

Positivity 197 - MindfulnessThis is not an act of selfishness.  Quite the contrary; you can do more for others around you when you know who and what YOU are about.  Being mindful begins with the self…but mindfulness of the self allows for greater mindfulness of those around you.  When you are more mindful of those around you, you will have a better idea of how you can help others in whatever ways you can.

Positivity is finding a positive place, a positive attitude.  Being mindful of what you are thinking, feeling, saying and thus projecting will allow you to break from negativity more easily.  This in turn will allow you to free yourself to be in a better, more positive headspace more frequently.  I believe that more Positivity in the world can only make the world a better, healthier, more balanced place for everyone.

Can Consciousness Create Reality?

Consciousness creates reality when we work to be aware of our thoughts, feelings and subsequent actions.

Positivity 196All too often, most of us get caught up in our day-to-day activities.  There are patterns and routines each of us follows.  Before you realize It, you may find yourself just going along with things, and finding that you are dissatisfied because you are seeing more things you don’t want than things you do want.

We are living in a fear-based society.  Everywhere you turn those we have placed in power use fear to control us.  When we are afraid we tend to cease to be reasonable, and before we know it we’re living half-a-life because the compounded fears overwhelm us.

I believe we are all energy at our core.  Energy vibrates at a specific frequency, and like attracts like.  When the collective consciousness leans in a certain direction, its attractive force grows.  Thousands of people feeling fear will attract more and more to join them.

Because we get busy and have many different needs, desires, and obligations, a lot of people tend to let their subconscious do most of the driving.  As such, the collective consciousness draws them in, and the fear and concern and negativity takes hold.

Remaining conscious of your awareness requires active consideration of thoughts, feelings and subsequent actions.  Sometimes it just appears easier to go with the flow.  Trouble is, when the collective consciousness is inundated with fear-mongering and negativity, we draw more of this to ourselves.  Before we know it, dissatisfaction leads to distress and depression and down and down we go.

The collective consciousness can be disempowering.

Consciousness Creates RealityAllowing the collective consciousness to pervade our thoughts and feelings takes away our own empowerment.  When we are disempowered, we open ourselves to being controlled by outside forces, and as such the collective consciousness continues to build on fear.

Awareness of our individual consciousness empowers us to manifest better.  The positivity of this is tremendous, and powerful, and could change the world.  When we make an effort to focus on the positive, and work on conscious creation of our desires, we become more capable of controlling our own lives, and breaking from the collective consciousness.

Consciousness creates reality.  I know I prefer to work on building a better, more positive world.  Wouldn’t you like that, too?

Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require action.

Knowing that we can use our individual consciousness to create reality, we can work on creating more of what we want than what we don’t want.  When we break free of the collective consciousness and are aware of our thoughts, feelings and actions, we empower ourselves.  When we feel empowered, we frequently spread that feeling to others around us; as such, we can build more positive feelings in the collective consciousness.  We can use the positive feelings this generates to dissolve negative feelings.  When we take away negative feelings, we open up space to let in positive feelings, and that is something we can be grateful for.  Gratitude leads to happiness.  Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude.  Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.

Why the “How” of things trips me up.

Why does the “how” of it all continue to get in my way?

Two weeks ago I discussed the block I encounter between idea and end goal.  I want to be a bestselling author.  The “how” of the process is what keeps tripping me up, and I think it’s time to dig deeper into why that is.

Conscious reality creation works.  I’ve done it many times, and I intellectually understand it.  One of my greatest issues, though, is emotions, which is part of how I keep stumbling.

exploring the howIn no regard do I blame my parents, certainly not after all this time.  When they divorced nearly four decades ago, to protect myself from feeling hurt and taking undue blame for their divorce, I shunted off my emotions.  I was a smart enough kid to tell the psychologist what the feelings should feel like…but I didn’t actually feel them.  This would go on for over twenty-five years, until a different therapist and I unlocked this matter.

Feelings…nothing more than feelings.

Once I recognized my intellectualization of emotions, rather than feeling them, I was able to start changing things.  Thus I began to work on actually feeling, and from there my life changed.  I started to feel a passion for manifesting what I wanted, I started to approach relationships differently, and this is where I began to build the life I have today.

I have come to believe that while thought and intentional action are important to manifesting things, the key is feeling.  You can’t just think and act on something, you have to FEEL it.  You have to feel certain, sure that it will be.  It is necessary to feel that my thought has been made manifest, and let the Universe deliver.

I always want to know how.

I am a curious person.  Understanding how things work has always been a part of my nature.  There has always been a drive to uncover the truth of things, and to really know “how” the universe works.

There are any number of instances where knowing how things work is useful.  I like knowing how an airplane flies, how my circulation system works, how to change a tire and other information.  But when it comes to manifesting through conscious reality creation, figuring out “how” it works gets in the way.

Simply put, every single book I have read or listened to says the same thing.  You begin with thought, then give that thought feeling, and from there take intentional actions to move things forward.  Simple enough, except often exactly HOW this will work is unknown.

I want to be a bestselling author.  That’s my thought.  I strive to feel what that will feel like, feel how it will affect my life, my moods, my thinking, my finances.  I work to feel it in the now, to really be truly aware of what it feels like.  Then, I take actions that tie in, with the intent of making it manifest.

Questioning how.

How is this going to work?  Then how will I turn my existing work into bestsellers?  How do I make money from this?  Then how do I promote myself to get known?  All of these questions begin with the same word – HOW.  Because I cannot see how to get from where I am to where I want to be, I move forward at a snail’s pace, or less.

The Secret sums up the conscious creation process thus: Ask, Believe, Receive.  Ask for what I want, Believe I already have it, and then Receive it.  I know this is how manifestation works…but I still seek to know more detailed HOW.

Is this a lack of faith?

I am a proponent of logic.  Science and reason offer truth.  However, I am all for faith, but not to the exclusion of reason.  Blind Faith was a great band, but is not a great way to approach life, the universe and everything.

The universe is full of infinite possibility.  My faith in this comes from proof I’ve witnessed with my own eyes, and is not blind.  But my need to understand how, seeking logic and reason in the illogical, causes a paradox that complicates my work to live the life I most desire to.

It all ties into my need to feel more thoroughly.  Faith is a feeling.  I need to have faith that this is possible, and that how it will come about is not something to concern myself with.  I need to feel that this is real, that I have achieved it, and believe that it’s mine.  There needs to be faith that I am capable of manifesting this.  Conscious reality creation.

I know that this will not supplant my need to understand how.  That’s a part of my nature.  But knowing that my preoccupation with “how” interferes with my paths is an important step.  I have become aware of this matter.  Awareness is part of conscious reality creation, so I can work with this to move forward.

Think.  Feel.  Actions.

More meditation.  I need to take more pauses in the day to be truly aware of what I am thinking and feeling, and work on keeping my eye on the prize.  I know I can do this.  There is no need for me to know how, I just need to feel it through.

How do you recognize if you’re walking the right Path?

How do I know if I am on the right path?

This is probably the most basic, yet most challenging question to ask.  The answer is both amazingly simple, and yet fairly complicated.

Pathwalking is making choices about living life, in order to work to consciously create our personal reality as we want it to be.  Rather than simply going along with life and letting whatever happens, happen; as we walk our chosen paths we strive to be present and aware.  We don’t want to let life just occur, we are working on living life to its fullest.

There is always more than one path.  That’s how the universe works.  If consciousness creates reality, as this blog asserts, then we can choose virtually any path we might desire.  As such, there is more than one “right” path for us.

It’s important to recognize that the idea of “right” is fairly loaded.  Right is often the extreme opposite of wrong, but in this context right is a matter of feeling, desire, and drive.  Further, today’s right choice could be wrong for us tomorrow.

I recognize that that’s pretty vague.  This is because the specifics of what is right for me are not going to necessarily be right for you, or for anyone else for that matter.  “Right” in this particular context is a matter of feeling, belief and faith.

How do I recognize the right path?

The short answer is that the right path will feel good.  It will almost seem like its too easy, and the work you do along the right path feels less like work, and more like play.  It’s surprisingly easy to lose track of time when you are on the right path, because you get so caught up in it you just take action because it’s what you need to do.

For example, when I am writing, and really getting into my work, whether it’s my blog or my fiction or even writing for business, I often just flow with it. Time loses meaning, and I come away from a project feeling complete, content, and like I wasn’t working at all, just doing what feels good to me.

I desire to be writing more frequently.  I am driven to write, and that is how I am certain that this is the path that is right for me.

It feels good.  It feels like it is what I am supposed to do.  That is how I know my path is the right path.  But to really be travelling upon that path, it’s important to believe and have faith.

What’s the difference between belief and faith?

In many respects these are similar concepts, but not in this context.  How does this work, then?  Belief is important to Pathwalking, because if you don’t believe that consciousness can create reality, and that you can choose your own destiny, your own path in life, then you are going to be incapable of living this way.

I believe that I can create the life I desire.  I have made this work before, more than once.  And that is where faith comes into play.

I believe in this…but I don’t necessarily have faith.  I believe, in the abstract, but my faith in my own belief is open to scrutiny, questioned by my own skepticism.  But more than that, what this boils down to is my faith in myself.  I believe that consciousness creates reality, but I have no faith in myself to consciously create it.

If I am responsible for consciously creating my reality, then I need to have faith in myself.  I am the only one who can make MY life what I want it to be.  But if I lack faith in myself, what can I do?

How do you create faith in yourself?

When you believe in yourself, you believe you are capable of almost anything.  We nearly all feel this way as children, but as we get older and we are exposed to certain “realities”, this fades.  We can regain our ability to believe in abstracts, but after that we have to have faith – faith in ourselves.

Skepticism, cynicism, self-doubt, self-recrimination, second-guessing and self-deprecation are all born of a lack of faith.  Despite what you might believe about conscious reality creation, you don’t have sufficient faith in yourself to achieve it.  This is evident if your self-talk is frequently negative, such as I am no good; I am unimportant; I am fat; I am lazy; I fail more often than I succeed; if I don’t joke about myself everyone else will; and so on.  When you speak ill of yourself, it shows a lack of faith in who you are capable of being.

You may not be who you want to be right now.  That’s ok.  One of the reasons to choose Pathwalking is to become the person you most want to be, even if that is not who you are now.  To do that you have to think about it, feel it out, take inspired, intentional actions – and believe in the possibility; have faith in your ability to succeed.  When it feels like you can conquer the world, and you believe in conscious reality creation and have faith in yourself, you will know that are on the right path for you.

What are challenges vs struggles with Pathwalking?

Pathwalking can be fraught with many challenges.

I long ago came to believe that nothing worth having is ever easy.  But there is a difference between challenge and struggle.  Challenge involves growth and proactive change, while struggle is stagnation and reactive change.  Challenge is deciding to change, while struggle is forced.

Many of the challenges in Pathwalking are due to outside influences, some which we can control and some which we cannot.  Recognizing this is the first step towards working with it, and keeping challenges from becoming struggles.

Further, when you recognize that you are struggling, it is possible to transmute your struggle into a challenge.  This is where taking control of the matters which you can control comes into play.

What is outside of your control?  Other people, situations that are not of your making, world news and such.  Let’s face it…we live in tumultuous times.  There is a tremendous amount of upheaval and reactionary measures happening because people are either making poor choices or no choices due to fear of change.  We can protest, we can vote more wisely, we can choose where and how to spend our money, but we cannot change these people, their actions or how they think, no matter how badly we want to do that.

What is inside of your control?  Everything that is yours in your life.  Your thoughts, feelings and actions, your situations, your mental state, how you use your time and so on.  You are the only person who can think for you, feel for you, act for you.  Nobody else can make you think, feel or do anything you do not allow yourself to think, feel and do.

We frequently give this away without realizing that we are doing that.  They influenced my thinking and she made me feel that way and I only did that thing because you made me do it.  Easy enough to give that power away, but that is a choice, a decision.  The power is yours, but you get to choose if you will take hold of it, or not.

Looking out for yourself is not selfish.

We live in a society obsessed with polar opposites.  Black and white, rich and poor, conservative and liberal, gay and straight, fat and thin, etc.  We are inundated with choices of either/or, when the truth is most people in every way fall somewhere between extremes.

One of these is the notion that if you are not selfless, you are selfish.  As such, we often find ourselves believing that self-care is selfish, so we neglect it to care for others.  Then we wonder why we are struggling, when we have accepted this notion and let ourselves take a second-rate place in our own lives.

When we do not hold onto things for ourselves, and we do not care for ourselves, we actually take away our ability to give to others.  We have to be full in order to have enough to share, and because this is an abundant universe that is not a selfish notion.  We are all unique individuals, and we all have different needs and wants, but no matter what those may be, we all need to care for ourselves.  Putting yourself first is perfectly fine, so long as you don’t ignore that there is a world apart from yourself.  You are the center of your own world, but you are also a part of rather than apart from the rest of the world. That’s an important distinction to remain clear on.

Choose challenge.  Choose change.

Change is inevitable.  It will happen, because that is part of life and growth.  Even when you are standing perfectly still, the air around you is changed by your body heat and your breath.  That is the nature of all things.  So rather than struggle from resisting change, accept the challenges that may come from change.

The challenges of Pathwalking will be different for everyone.  Things I find simple and easy you may find unbelievably difficult, and vice versa.  I am a thinker, and while I am empathic, I have often struggled to understand people who are true feelers.  However, while I can be logical about my feelings, actually understanding the meanings of my feelings can be difficult for me.  Then there are people who are doers – they take actions with seemingly little thought or feeling going into them, sometimes with extreme wisdom and sometimes less so.

Many of the challenges thinkers, feelers or doers will experience may be similar, but they may also vary rather widely.  The thing is to make the choices and decide to work on challenges we face, rather than to let choices and decisions out of our control, and work on struggles that drain us and disempower us.

Pathwalking is empowering.

Despite challenges and occasional struggles, Pathwalking, ultimately, is empowering.  Choosing your own path means that you are working on deciding how you want life to be.  When we decide this for ourselves, we open ourselves to discovering our happiness, and that, I believe, is the thing we most want to know.

When you are struggling, it is always possible to face it head-on and turn it into a challenge.  It may not be easy, but I believe empowering the self is always worthwhile.  Choosing my own destiny and deciding how I want to be I believe is key to living the best life I possibly can.
