Does Everyday Mindfulness Lead to Positivity?

This post contains affiliate banner links. For more info, see my disclosures.   Positivity can be created and found with everyday mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of being aware of our selves.  It is being aware of our own thoughts, feelings, and actions.  When we are mindful and aware of these, we are capable of creating virtually anything. I know that this can seem like it’s totally untrue.  But it is true, because feeling positive or negative is a choice.

Why Be Mindful?

This post contains affiliate banner links. For more info, see my disclosures.   Why is being mindful all the rage in the self-help world?  I can tell you that there is more than one answer, and they are likely all right, and all wrong at the same time. The concept of mindfulness and being mindful takes in a lot of different approaches.  Meditation, psychiatry, self-help and philosophy all apply the idea in order to better ourselves and enrich our lives.

Why or Why Not?

This post contains affiliate banner links. For more info, see my disclosures.   Do you ever find that you are asking yourself why or why not a lot? Often the topic can be similar, but it’s just a matter of approach.  Why take that chance?  Why not take that chance? Why is a question we ask constantly, pretty much all of our lives.  Why is the sky blue?  Why are those people holding hands?  Why did he/she/they dump me?  And

How Do We Make 2019 Amazing?

This post contains affiliate banner links. For more info, see my disclosures.   This New Year has the potential to be amazing.  All we have to do is to make it so. It starts with ourselves. This is not an act of selfishness.  I repeat, THIS IS NOT SELFISH.  Self-awareness and self-care are all-too-often taken for granted, or outright ignored.  But not caring for ourselves or being aware of our thoughts, feelings, and actions disempowers our ability to create.  When

How Does Self-Motivation Work?

This post contains affiliate banner links. For more info, see my disclosures.   Self-motivation is a particularly challenging topic. This is something that is problematic for nearly everyone.  However, if you are dealing with depression, and/or anxiety, it can be even more difficult. What IS self-motivation?  It is finding our own inner-resources in order to motivate ourselves to do things.  Sometimes they are big things, sometimes small.  Finding motivation generally begins with the self, though we frequently go out-of-our-way to

Can You Know Too Much?

This post contains affiliate banner links. For more info, see my disclosures.   It is good to gain knowledge.  But is there a line between knowing, and when you know too much? Previously I wrote about the topic of knowing.  As I opined there, the key to knowing is to recognize that for the most part, we know far less than we think. So if that is the case, is it even possible to know too much?  And if so,

What Is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is self-awareness.  It is knowing what you are thinking, how you are feeling, and who you are intent on being. It’s continuously amazing to me how easily we lose sight of mindfulness.  We get caught up in all the things around us, the attitudes and feelings of the people we surround ourselves with, and that in turn can overtake our own mindfulness. Why is this important?  When someone is telling you about their bad day, or you are reading

How Do I Break the Pattern?

I am the only one who can break the pattern.  But I don’t have all the answers. More often than not what I have is more questions. I believe that this is one of the things, though, that makes life worth living.  New questions, new things to learn, answers to be found for questions asked. I have been asking myself a lot of questions lately.  That’s what I do when I find myself on unfamiliar ground.  Here I am, between

How does a non-planner plan?

Making a plan has not always been my strong suit. I tend to take actions as needed, but planning?  Not so much. From time to time I will make a plan.  But more often than not, I just go along and do what I need to do. This is not tremendously compatible with the notion of conscious reality creation. Take my writing, for instance.  A friend once told me there are two kinds of writers in the world – planners

Why the “How” of things trips me up.

Why does the “how” of it all continue to get in my way? Two weeks ago I discussed the block I encounter between idea and end goal.  I want to be a bestselling author.  The “how” of the process is what keeps tripping me up, and I think it’s time to dig deeper into why that is. Conscious reality creation works.  I’ve done it many times, and I intellectually understand it.  One of my greatest issues, though, is emotions, which
