Completion of a project is a wonderful feeling.
You may or may not have a deadline, but when you have a project you are putting your heart and soul into, getting it done feels wonderful.
When you are under pressure, and you have a job that needs to be completed, it can be a stressful situation. Not necessarily negative, but its possible that it lacks in positive, too.
But when it is finished…when the end is in sight, and you know that all of your hard work is about to pay off – that is a feeling of incredible positivity. When you think you’ve given all that you’ve got, when you have put a ton of work into that project, the positive energy boost you get from completing it is amazing.
We have all experienced this across our lives. That homework project in school that challenged us. That detailed work of art we meticulously detailed. That work project finished that got us appreciated and recognized. All of these completions generate positive energies.
Sometimes along the way you feel like it will never be done. You are pressured by a deadline, you are frustrated because all the necessary elements of whatever it is are not coming together. You persevere, and when you finish what you started, and you achieve that completion – it all feels worthwhile.
You get that great sense of relief, of pride at your accomplishment. You feel good about having finished what you started, and you can prepare to take on whatever comes your way next.
We do not give ourselves enough credit for a job well done. Certainly humility has its place, but not at the expense of enjoying a moment of well-earned self-congratulations. We deserve to recognize our own accomplishments, we just need to know the line between enjoying the fruits of our labors and bragging and overwrought self-aggrandizement.
I have been hard-at-work on a project for several weeks now. The end is almost in sight, I have nearly completed what I set out to do, and I feel elated that I will soon meet my goal. It is not the goal itself I want to share here, it is the sense of positivity, the good energy I am feeling that I want to share. I want you to feel good about your next completed project, and so I share the positivity I am experiencing from mine.
Finding positivity is not hard, it just requires action. Knowing that reaching the completion of a given project feels good, we need to be open to allowing ourselves to enjoy that sensation. Allowing ourselves to enjoy the sense of accomplishment from a completed project and relishing in the good feelings will dissolve negative feelings. When we take away negative feelings, we open up space to let in positive feelings, and that is something we can be grateful for. Gratitude leads to happiness. Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude. Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.
This is the thirty ninth entry of my Positivity series. It is my hope these weekly messages might help spread positive energies for everyone. Feel free to share, re-blog and spread the positivity.
