Positivity: Passion

What are you passionate about?

Passion takes on many forms, far beyond the notions of love and relationships and sex. Passion is a driving force, it is something that drives us to try new things, to explore creative pathways, and to live a life beyond the mundane and every day.

Many of us fall into a pretty set routine. Awaken, go to work, come home, spend some time with family or friends or otherwise in some form of relaxation, go to sleep. Repeat daily. Our passion is relegated to the backseat, to our hobbies, to grandiose ideas that seem insurmountably difficult to obtain.

I know there are some who live their passion. I want to learn how to live more like they do. I want to enjoy the same positivity they feel in living a life with passion every day.

Passion is a positive force. The drive, the desire, the energy when you are working with that certain something for which you feel good and happy and engaged in life.

What are your passions? Two of mine are writing and photography. All of the photographs I include in this blog are my own, and I love to hike and explore nature and find new visions to capture and share. Writing is my first love, whether it is the weekly blog or the fiction I have been crafting over three-quarters of my life. When I publish these posts or I work on a fantasy world of my devising I am fully engaged in the life around me.

I feel most content, most happy when I am hiking with my camera and looking for that amazing angle and beautiful shot. I have so much energy and joy when I am putting words down and sharing ideas or fictitious characters. These generate some of the most intense, most pleasant positive energies I can experience.

I know what my passions are, do you know yours? Do you give them time, and energy? Do you live a life with passion to fully experience everything you can? Passion is a magnificent force, and if you do not know what moves you, I cannot express how great it can be for you to seek it.

Too many of us get caught up in things that make us unhappy. We let our focus drift to things we are dispassionate about, and find them as draining and daunting as they can be. We let concern and worry and negative emotions sap our strength, and shift our focus from our passions, and as such we unnecessarily struggle.

How do we break free from this? Give time to passion. Let the things you are passionate about be energized and explored and given life. When we do this we generate more and more positive energy. When we feel more positive, we feel more passionate, and we build a greater and greater cycle of positivity, and thus happiness.

Finding positivity is not hard, it just requires action. Knowing that pursuing our passions generates positive energy, we should give more time to this. Allowing ourselves to focus on that which we are passionate about will dissolve negative feelings. When we take away negative feelings, we open up space to let in positive feelings, and that is something we can be grateful for. Gratitude leads to happiness. Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude. Positive attitude begets positive energy, and that is always a good thing.

This is the thirty eighth entry of my Positivity series.  It is my hope these weekly messages might help spread positive energies for everyone.  Feel free to share, re-blog and spread the positivity.
