The Ramblings of the Titanium Don

Life is Unpredictable

Be cause life is unpredictable, what you know or think you know can change drastically.

Recently my friends and I have experienced an almost unbelievable amount of life changes. Before we knew it, a great many of the things we knew changed, and changed drastically.

This has been emotional, disturbing, and incredibly difficult to wrap one’s head around. It has been a highly surrealistic example of how much life is unpredictable.

life is unpredictableWhat you know at this moment as the reality you live in can be changed almost instantly. Those changes may be good, bad, or even neutral. The unavoidable truth of it, though, is that life will change, and change unexpectedly.

This can be particularly difficult when you are not seeking to make any changes. Life may be going along swimmingly, you know what you know and where you are going to. But then…abruptly everything is different.

The unpredictable can be emotionally trying

Many of the most unpredictable happenings in life come with deep emotion attached to them. Relationships ending, deaths, sudden and unexpected departures. When your world is making sense and then out of nowhere makes no sense at all it’s almost impossible not to get emotional.

Further, the emotions from such sudden turmoil are stronger and more visceral than normal emotions. When everything you know is suddenly and unexpectedly wrong in some way or other that’s distressing and confusing and upsetting.

Everyone reacts to this sort of thing differently, sometimes shifting from one extreme to another. Anger and lashing out can give way to sorrow and cocooning…or both can happen at once.

When an unpredictable event happens and impacts a large number of people this can get even more surreal. Depending on your distance to the event and connections with those immediately impacted, your own reaction may be proportionate or disproportionate. There is no right or wrong to this because everyone experiences emotions in their own way.

The thing to keep in mind is that because life is unpredictable, living in the now is important, as is kindness, reason, and understanding

Live in the now

This moment you are. But because life is unpredictable, what you are expecting from your day may totally and drastically be changed. So being conscious of this moment in time is really important. Good or bad, this moment stands alone, and is the most real moment of your reality.

Breathe. Take in your surroundings. Recognize the moment and see what you are thinking and what and how you are feeling. Being in this moment you can be as free or chained as you believe yourself to be.

In a life with little certainty, every moment can be as special, incredible, and precious as you make it.

Express kindness, reason, and understanding

Everyone at one time or another will experience upheaval because life is unpredictable. How it impacts you is going to be unique and different from how it impacts anyone else. Though they may be similar, the thoughts and feelings of any individual impacted by any thing is going to still be different.

life is unpredictableFor that reason, before you lash out in anger or sorrow, before you let grief or anger dictate something you say, consider kindness, reason, and understanding. You may feel utterly justified in your anger or sorrow, it is possible that the upheaval was caused by another’s actions…but that does not mean being unkind and unreasonable it good for anyone.

You do not want people to treat you without kindness, to approach you without reason, or to be unwilling to understand you and your feelings. Thus you should really consider that in how you approach a given situation that may impact you one way while impacting someone else very differently.

We are all on this planet together. When all is said and done we are all one. Being kind and reasonable and understanding to others is being kind, reasonable, and understanding to yourself. Think about that before you speak, type, and post.

Life is unpredictable for everyone.

Finding positivity is not hard, but the unpredictability of life can make it appear to be

Knowing that everyone experiences upheaval because life is unpredictable, you get to choose your reactions when it happens. Whether it is something near to you or far, a direct or indirect impact, when you remember kindness, reason, and understanding in the unexpected situation that ultimately empowers you. When you feel empowered, your mindfulness increases, you become more aware overall, and that tends to spread to other people around you.

As such, you can build more positive feelings and discover more things to feel positivity and gratitude.

Gratitude leads to happiness. Happiness is the ultimate positive attitude. An attitude of gratitude is an attitude of positivity that begets even more good energies – and that, like you, is always worthwhile.
